February’s Restoration Project Winner: Meet Andrew and His Classic Range Rover 3.5 V8

At Motaclan, we love celebrating the passion and dedication of classic car enthusiasts who breathe new life into iconic vehicles. Our February Restoration Project of the Month goes to Andrew Bacon and his incredible Range Rover 3.5 V8 restoration. This stunning build, known as Project Milo, has impressed us with its meticulous craftsmanship and inspiring backstory.

From Wreck to Remarkable: The Journey of a Classic

Andrew’s journey with his Range Rover began in an unexpected place—a hedgerow, where the vehicle had been sitting for over 12 years. He had his eye on it for years, regularly checking in on its availability. When the opportunity finally arose, he didn’t hesitate to take action.

Despite its long abandonment, Andrew pumped up the tyres, added a battery and some fuel, and, incredibly, drove it home to begin the restoration. From that moment, Project Milo was born—named after Andrew’s black cat, Milo, who quickly claimed the vehicle as his own during the rebuild.

Restoration Magic: Witness a Stunning Makeover

Restoring a classic Range Rover is no small feat, but Andrew approached the challenge with unwavering dedication. His work included a full body-off rebuild, ensuring every mechanical and structural component was restored to the highest standard. The attention to detail and craftsmanship in this restoration have been nothing short of exceptional.

Working from his carport and garage, Andrew personally handled every aspect of the rebuild—except for the wheel refurbishment. His meticulous approach and hands-on commitment have led to a truly remarkable transformation, set to be completed by summer this year.

Motaclan’s Verdict: What Makes This Restoration Project a Winner

When selecting our Restoration Project of the Month, we look for dedication, craftsmanship, and overall impact. Andrew’s Range Rover 3.5 V8 stood out to our team in multiple ways:

“The cleanliness and attention to detail on the mechanicals are second to none.”

“The level of detail and craftsmanship is incredible—especially considering it was done on their driveway!”

“The colour choice is inspired—it truly enhances the classic lines of such a big car.”

Andrew’s commitment and skill deserve recognition, and we’re delighted to award him a £50 Motaclan voucher to support his ongoing passion for classic car restoration.
