1980 MGB Leave a comment

Thanks to Malcolm Madge for the update on his 1980 MGB which is still going strong.

We have owned this MGB from new, We bought it as a wedding present to ourselves in August 1980 and is now in its 34th year.During the mid 80’s we attended many MGOC events with South Staffs MGOC, the small boy in some early pictures is my Son, he is now a grown man with a family of his own but still enjoy’s the occasional run out in the B. During the 90’s we made many trips to the LeMans 24hr and also the Classic LeMans. In 2008 some minor body repairs were needed and a respray so decided, rightly or wrongly to have it converted to chrome bumper. The car benefits from a blueprinted engine, Peter Burgess fast road head (un-leaded) and 270 camshaft as well as various suspension up-grades. as a result the engine is smooth and is lovely to drive.

The last 8 years the car has spent the Summer months in France where we have enjoyed several tours of the South of France and the Pyrenees. The car has now covered a total of 68000 very enjoyable and trouble free miles.
