    Starter motor

    Hi Torque starter motor for TVR Chimaera, Griffith V8S and Tamin V8 models. This is a high torque starter motor upgrade for the Rover V8 engined TVRs and is a direct replacement for the standard starter motor. These starter motor will turn the engine over faster and consume less current in the process through the modern reduction gear design. This reduction gear design means that as well as being incredibly powerful these starter motors sit lower than normal which in practice means that on a TVR Griffith or Chimaera the motor and solenoid is significantly further away from the exhaust manifolds and further in the airflow under the car. This in turn reduces the well known heat "soak" problems which can lead to hot restart problems with these particular TVRs. In addition the starter motor solenoid draws cooling air every time it is operated further aiding temperature reduction. Note that this starter motor is now supplied with a 2kW motor which gives significantly more power to cranking over the engine.

    Delivery Guide for the UK

    Our standard delivery in the UK for smaller items is Royal Mail First Class. For items over 2kg we use APC/FedEx next day.

    Our aim is to deliver parts to our customers as soon as possible but please be advised that even with these services this can take up to 3 working days.

    Please be aware that import duties and taxes may apply upon receipt of orders delivered outside of the UK.

    These are set by the Customs Authority of the destination country and are beyond our control. It is the customer’s responsibility to pay them.

    Where volumetric weights dictate (i.e. large parts, i.e. windscreens, panels, etc.) we reserve the right to contact customer to advise of a true delivery cost.

    Typical delivery times outside of the UK are between 5 and 21 days but are subject to customs clearance and local delivery facilities.

    Our standard Delivery outside the UK for smaller items is Royal Mail. For items over 2kg we use FedEx Express.

    All parts on our website are shown with their prices exclusive and inclusive of UK VAT (currently 20%).

    Our database knows the weight of every part listed on our website, so in the majority of cases automatic delivery options can be chosen at the checkout. Unfortunately, penalties will be imposed by all dlivery companies if a parcel is particularly large in size compared to its weight, this is commonly known as “voluming out”. This means that sometimes we are unable to accurately quote delivery for orders until we have packed the parcel and confirmed the delivery cost.

    Please be aware that import duties and taxes may apply in countries outside of the United Kingdom. All duties and taxes are set by the Customs Authority of the destination country, over which we have no control. Please note that it will be the responsibility of the customer to pay all duties and taxes.
