The Jaguar E-Type, also known as the Jaguar XK-E in the United States, is one of the most iconic and celebrated sports cars in automotive history. Introduced in 1961, the E-Type was a revolutionary design that captivated enthusiasts and remains a symbol of British automotive elegance.

The E-Type was designed by Malcolm Sayer and is often considered one of the most beautiful cars ever produced. Its long, sleek hood, distinctive glass-covered headlights, and sensuous curves contributed to its timeless appeal. Enzo Ferrari reportedly called it “the most beautiful car ever made” when it was unveiled.

The E-Type underwent several updates and model variations during its production run from 1961 to 1975. The Series 1 (1961–1968), Series 2 (1968–1971), and Series 3 (1971–1975) each had their unique features and improvements. Changes included different engine options, revised styling elements, and enhancements to meet safety and emission standards.

The Jaguar E-Type’s legacy has endured over the years, and it has become a highly sought-after classic car. In 2014, Jaguar Land Rover announced a continuation series called the E-Type Lightweight, where they completed the production of the original intended run of lightweight E-Types that was halted in the 1960s.
