Every restoration tells a story — and few are as inspiring as Wil Partington’s 1984 TVR Tasmin 200, our October 2025 Restoration of the Month winner.
A Classic TVR with a Family History
Wil first bought his Tasmin when it was just nine years old, back in the early ’90s. After years of tinkering and enjoying the drive, the car was taken off the road and placed on SORN in 2000. For over two decades, it rested quietly in his father’s garage — occasionally fired up, but never forgotten.
Then came 2023/24, when Wil decided it was finally time to bring his beloved TVR back to life. The result? A stunning full restoration that perfectly blends original spirit with modern upgrades — and a car that now looks, feels, and drives like new again.
The Rebuild at a Glance
✨ Highlights from the restoration:
- Poly bushes throughout
- Vented HiSpec front brakes
- New Konis & springs
- 2.1 Pinto, lightened & balanced
- Burton Stage 2 head, Piper 270 cam & Weber 38DGMS
- RS alloy sump
- Type 9 5-speed & uprated clutch
- 2-pack polyurethane respray on pods, spoilers, sills, doors & bumpers
Every element was reworked with care and precision — from the upgraded suspension and brake setup to the fully balanced Pinto engine. The attention to detail even extended to a flawless polyurethane finish, giving the Tasmin a factory-fresh look while retaining its classic TVR charm.
Now, after more than 20 years off the road, this Tasmin 200 is back in action — and Wil has already enjoyed a few track days planned for 2025. It’s a comeback story worthy of applause, proving that patience, passion, and persistence always pay off.
